Pokarekare Ana (PepperHorn Standards) [PH]

A treasured New Zealand Folks song in a contemporary Pop/Country stance.

Probably one of New Zealand’s most beloved Folk Songs — ‘Pokarekare Ana’ has it’s roots around the start of WWI. Reports say the song originated ‘in the North of Auckland’ and was popularized by Maori soldiers who were training near Auckland preparing for the Great War. Covered and translated by many artists, it has endured over time. We’re presenting it with a contemporary Pop/Country spin in it’s original (phonetic) Maori.
