One of the first compositions for the hit-making duo of Burt Bacharach and Hal David — Perry Como took this one to the Top Ten in 1957.

Mr Pitiful (Otis Redding) [HL]

This Memphis Soul classic was first recorded in 1964 in the home of the Memphis Sound, Stax Music. ‘Mr. Pitiful’ was written by Otis Redding and one of Stax’s great magic makers, Steve Cropper. Suspicious Minds (Elvis Presley) [HL]

Mark James wrote and originally released ‘Suspicious Minds’ on his own recording, but the song failed to catch much notice. It was passed on to Elvis by producer Chips Moman and the rest was history. ‘Suspicious Minds’ rocketed to become the #1 song of 1969 and heralded the return of the King to chart success.

The Christmas Song (PepperHorn Standars) [HL]

This relatively modern ‘Christmas Classic’ was written in 1946 by popular crooner Mel Torme and songwriter Robert Wells. The tune has become an immortal holiday favorite and covered by artists from Nat Cole and Christina Aguilera to Garth Brooks and James Brown. We’re giving this one a Pop Ballad touch in the PepperHorn Standards tradition with some tasty reharmonized changes and some classic pop touches that are sure to please. There are also String parts availble as an add on to your small group (2-6 Horn) or a Big Band with Strings for that big stage show.
