This 1967 cut from Desmond Dekker and the Aces was a hit amongst the Jamaican ‘Rude Boys’ — and reached #1 in Jamaica and #14 in the UK. The song found further acclaim being included in the classic Jimmy Cliff film The Harder They Come including the formidable soundtrack of the same name. Dekker’s number has been covered as well — most notably by Musical Youth in ’83 who had UK chart success with their take.
